About Ledin Engineering

Ledin Engineering has 21 years of experience in the design and development of simulations of complex dynamic systems. The company is located in located in Camarillo, California and serves customers worldwide.

We have the expertise to design, develop, validate, and analyze the results of simulations of complex dynamic systems including:

bullet

Linear simulations for system analysis and control system design.

bullet

High fidelity nonlinear digital system simulations.

bullet

High fidelity real time hardware-in-the-loop simulations.

We use simulation techniques to develop and validate control system designs and embedded software for a variety of application areas.

In the past, hardware-in-the-loop simulations have tended to be used in the systems engineering of complex and extremely expensive systems such as aircraft flight control systems, air-to-air missiles, nuclear power plants and satellites.

Now, using low cost, high performance processors it is cost-effective to use the power of simulation in the development and testing of a much broader range of systems. Significant benefits can be achieved even for projects that are far less complex than the ones mentioned above.

Jim Ledin, PE, has worked in the field of dynamic system simulation for over two decades. He is the principal developer of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations for several air-to-air and surface-to-air tactical missile systems.

He is the author of the book Simulation Engineering, which delivers step-by-step instructions on the entire range of simulation techniques and provides sage insight into the related management issues.

He is also the author of Embedded Control Systems in C/C++, published in January 2004 by CMP Books. This book enables embedded systems developers to design, implement, and test control systems without the advanced mathematical skills that are typically required in this domain.

Jim is a regular speaker at the Embedded Systems Conferences on simulation-related topics.

He holds a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University and an M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Electrical Engineer in the state of California.

Ledin Engineering will provide professional references upon request.
